This is my favorite Unearth album. But that is what makes it new and keeps it fresh,so we get more groove oriented music. Whether it's the anthem-like choruses, the ripping solos, or the unrelenting breakdowns, Unearth continues to prove that they know exactly what to do when it comes to making music. So It Goes 09. I see chugging often as bland and flavorless but the syncopated rhythms with nicely placed solos along with powerhouse riffs makes this one of Unearth's heaviest album yet.

With punishing, uber-metal offerings such as "This Glorious Nightmare" and "The Devil Has Risen," Unearth expertly balances harsh vocals and searing guitar lines with a vintage sense of melody in the mold of classic Metallica and Iron Maiden, making III: In the Eyes of Fire … The vocals are a bit more audible and that too me is a plus.
