Thoroughly enjoyed this trilogy. I believe readers would be better treat if publishers released a trilogy in one go, or at least over a shorter period.
The first book in the series started off very slow, but once it had me, it had me.
Unlike other Fantasies setting that use Medieval or Victorian setting, this series would have been put in the StreamPunk genre if not for the Dragons and their blood that take the place of the stream. You'll love it. Armies will clash and ancient secrets will be revealed in The Empire of Ashes, the thrilling conclusion to Anthony Ryan's Draconis Memoria series. Told by multiple POV first person narratives, both among the good guys, and the bad guys. The ending was sloppy and not well crafted for as good as the story was through out the all the books.
I won't go too much into plot it being the third and final book but things start where they left off at the end of the second book, continuing with the four POV's. Welcome back. The series always had an intimate relationship with technological development.
Really impressed with the overall world building just not sustained enough throughout the series.A good end to the series. Only downside is when reading on an early kindle, the maps are really difficult to reference as the story unfolds. The vast world is richly written, while always being believable. It kept me enthralled over all three book's. I think my actual rating would be more of a 3.5 stars but I am going to round up. Overall, great end to the series. That becomes even more evident in this third book.
With that being said, The Empire of Ashes was so so good from beginning to end.
