Not just dim sum dishes but they serve very good regular dishes as well. Try a lychee martini!I had the pleasure of dining here with my best friend and it is by far one of the best restaurants I’ve been too this year and one of my favorites. Then they went to the Manager who also had no clue on how to apply the rewards. We requested a booth via our reservation. Entrees on point as well. Looking forward to their upcoming opening in Center City!The food was good. Your typical rich custard buns at a dim sum spot should be yolky, a rich yellow and delicious as hell. Best dim sum restaurant in the east coast and energetic and multicultural staff! both of our cravings were completely satisfied by the end of the meal.Came here for restaurant week and I personally loved it! The location is perfect right in Rittenhouse so I don't have to venture out to Chinatown for dim sum. I'd still go to Chinatown for a more authentic dim sum experience. Love it here!Great, fun restaurant with awesome food! I have been a couple times and prefer take-out.
Jane G's rebranded to Dim Sum House and reopened on Valentine's Day, 2020. Was relatively busy. Please if you’re in the city stop by here you would be missing out if you didn’t and one suggestion try the Dan Dan noodles ! Meanwhile we walked through a pretty, light and airy dining room with tables empty. The staff is always very helpful to make recommendations.
my boyfriend and i couldn't agree between dim sum and sichuan and then realized this is the only place in the city that has decent dim sum and decent sichuan food. While it's difficult to compete with the cheap and delicious Chinese restaurants just a couple streets down in Chinatown, Jane G's is a classy Chinese establishment in Philadelphia and offers an average dining experience at a moderate price. As expected on an opening night, the service was a bit disjointed and slow, but not in an annoying way. The soup dumplings are AMAZING and so are the dan dan noodles. 100% recommend to go. It is a great atmosphere to go for a fun night out with friends or family for a great meal!This review is for takeout only, as I have only ordered on Caviar. What we got instead were vanilla-pudding colored fillings that completely fell flat. The service here is pretty mediocre. Or glass. The menu selection is extensive, and the soup dumplings are so crave-able.Great dim sum. Frankly, I’m confused why she is put at that job or applied for the job. And the pumpkin pancakes had gravel in them. I was coming home from the gym and I wanted to have it there by the time I got home. The waitress was very professional and efficient.We were sat within minutes and our dim sum goodies came out immediately after we ordered. "Okay so we wanted a nice date night my boyfriend and I and usually when we go to a NICE dinner we go for steaks.
Prices appear to be a tad more expensive compared to other places. We were seated on time, and the restaurant was fairly empty- I think because of how cold it was outside.With the recent ridiculous surge in Szechuan Chinese restaurants in Philadelphia to pander to the culture-seekers, one stands out among the rest as the pinnacle, and that is Jane G's. Everything is good.
Especially good were the ribs, soup dumplings and the cold sesame noodles.We went downtown philly for Dim Sum.
