I dont mind paying for the charge it self as i used its services i dont wanna have a free ride but i dont wanna pay this huge penalty for your blunders created by the systems and people running it .How unfair is this wholesystem?
They give up eventually.The new system was obviously thought up by a complete idiot. Glad it worked out this time – I did the same with the Congestion Charge once… sadly with no 14-day grace period.Have been reading through these comments…my situation is I crossed twice last Saturday and twice last Sunday.

I literally cried when I opened them.I’ve have now experienced multiple incidents with hire cars where payments have been incorrectly assigned.In January 2016 I made 2 crossings on one day and made a payment for two crossings on the following day – my payments were (wrongly) assigned to crossings made two days earlier by someone else in the hire car. So we went over the bridge turned around and came back in the tunnel. its mad.
Is there a way to only pay the toll and not the penalty? Surely they Dartags are useless as there’s no RFID to ‘see’ the tags on the barriers anymore as it’s all place recognition?I made 2 crossings back in may and paid for them at the time of the crossing. I paid the PCN and paid the £2.50 in total £40.00. I was not aware of the change, assumed there was some work that had started and that were not completed, or that it would now be free, or whatever possible reason the toll went away temporarily or permanently. I have made representations, but needless to say these penalty notices are distressing to say the least, not just because inappropriate and threatening court action abroad, but also because they are being sent from Sweden by ordinary mail (not even recorded delivery) despite my asking for email communications, and I may not see them until too late to appeal if I am not at the property they are being sent to! It is outrageous that the public is ‘expected to know’ the new arrangements. ?I opened a Dart Charge account on 16th May at which time I paid £20 which was duly debited from my credit card account on the same date. I then got 2xPCNs a week or so later through the post saying I have 14 days to pay. Thanks again.TOTALLY UNFAIR and really upset about this Dart Charge. where do revenues from these fines go?
I wrote too but they ignored the request and still kept writing to her. The first I knew of this was when I logged on to pay the return journey PCN that I did receive. Usual thing-pay within 28 days you only have to pay the £2.50-so I did just that!Thought that was all done with until nine months later, November 2015, got a duplicate PCN for the same offencePhoned Dart Charge to be told the £2.50 I had paid in February, and I followed the instructions on the PCN and the prompts on-line to pay this money, that in fact the payment I made was for an advance crossing!! It disappoints me that the government can create and support such an unjust and inefficient scheme. !There must be a reason why they have managed quickly to remove the barriers on the clockwise journey making it much quicker but not the barriers anti-clockwise. This is an absolute joke of a service. However a week later I received an email to say my account was at £0 and would be closed. When you get a notification from Dart Charge, it should give you 14 extra days to pay the original charge at the standard rate. The idiot that designed this was paid a future simply to really ****** of the public. Today I received a charge for each and everyone of my crossings???? Could be a lucky escape, but it’s only on the first ‘offence’. After I queried this I was told that they had been wrong it was because I had paid for the wrong registration number. They wouldn’t speak to me because it wasn’t my account yet they were happy to send me the PCN’s for it.
