Restaurant could use some acoustic treatment to dampen the noise level. The Scottish eggs and veal meatballs were very good. Turns out many of his reviews of other restaurants are also 1-star which, at least to me, makes him a troller or food snob. This is a very charming tavern that was perfect for a cool autumn night.
All food done right and the time...Excellent menu and service. No Drinks, no dessert. A good glass of Malbec and I was a happy camper . The pork osso bucco was fall off the bone tender.
Came here for my birthday with my family. We were greeted and seated immediately next to a very traditional bar.
We did not have dessert. Their soups are typically wonderful as are frankly most of the food items here. Those were the days. Unfortunately the burger was...Eat here often. Keep up the good work and thank you DaVEE for putting together an memorable evening.
To be honest I was not expecting much of this place since in my hometown we used to make sushi all the time and fished big-eye tuna on our small little ship.

That usually means that they are over-priced. I had lobster taco as an appetizer, it was great. I had the home made pasta bolognese and it was delicious.
Picture it, Mother's day 2019, his mother picks this place for dinner. It's truly higher than anywhere around...Such a nice evening, food was delicious, wait staff and outdoor seating made for a wonderful birthday night out.We ate here last Friday night, and the whole experience was fantastic. It was a bitch to get there thanks to two clueless navigators and a GPS that told us to take a left ... onto those aforementioned train tracks. The ambiance and coziness of the restaurant is apparent and the food was great.
The mushroom risotto was amazing!!! Those were the days. Our server was Da VEE who was timely and attentive. The one drawback is that...This establishment is a perfect combination of service and food.
I had a nice skirt steak cooked exactly how I like it, with excellent sweet potato fries and Brussel sprouts . Both are equally as enjoyable if you're a party of 2. The decor of this tiny and cute little restaurant is just right. The drinks were good but were just wine so nothing too crazy. The one complaint I have was the Spring Sangria has a tad bit too much of bitters in it. We were seated right away and I noticed the restaurant was rather small. She makes everyone feel welcome and knows all her regular customers by name and by hugs. Both times have been fabulous.

Beignets were not exactly beignets, more like puff pastry, but tasty, and worth the cost.Much better meal this time.
quite a nuber of times over the last two years, and have always been very pleased. Two's are a bit squeezed in this place but nothing like you'd experience at a hotspot in the East Village, just a bit more crowded in than you'd expect for a long island restaurant. The decor of this tiny and cute little restaurant is just right. Other than that I was very pleased with the service. Last night not best meal we ever had here.If you find yourself near glen head you must stop in to see Alison the bartender.

Heirloom has it all! Picked off the list of Long Island Restaurant week and we're glad we did. The food was surprisingly fresh and delicious.

With a some drinks, great dinner, and an unhurried, wonderful dining experience, the cost was well worth it. Namely, the Grilled Octopus Appetizer and the Crab Cake. The noise level is minimal and the food is outstanding. Higher than Bryant Cooper's, Morton's, etc.
My husband had the baked clams and French Dip and I had a mushroom gruyere onion burger cooked to perfection.
What an amazing surprise.
They immediately fixed the problem though and replaced it with a fabulous margarita !
